There are basically three types of Helipads :

1. Ground-based :

It is the most common type of Helipad which is built widely across the World. It is built generally in remote locations where airports are distant. The cost of building a helipad on the ground can vary depending on the strength required as per various helicopters. Generally, it costs from Rs 2 Lakhs to 5 lakhs.

Characteristics:

2. Water Based Helipad :

This type of construction is precisely done for either Warships, Cruise Ships, or offshore oil Exploration Rigs. It is very risky to land on this type of helipad as wind velocity is too high and uneven around water bodies. The cost of construction ranges from Rs 10 lakhs to 40 Lakhs.

3. Elevated Helipad: Over Building

These are the most dangerous helipads to land. It is generally constructed over a tall building to get an emergency escape as well it could also be utilized to avoid traffic. It costs roughly around 10-50 Lakhs depending on the type of helicopter which intends to land.
